Overview
PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
When we engage in a conversation with a user, we get a peek into their lives, we hear the stories they live in, and we have an opportunity to assess our own assumptions to the real data they provide us with. Public leaders who take time to get to know the users of their leadership, are able to adapt their style, offer, efforts and commitments, to be in alignment with their own value-set, but to also speak to the hearts and concerns of the people they wish to lead, impact or collaborate with. Essentially, completing an empathy map is an exercise in curious listening, encouraging a willingness to be surprised by the responses of the user.
COHORT PROFILES
Being a successful public leader requires a thorough understanding of the needs, hopes, fears and concerns of the individuals we lead. An empathy map is one way through which we can visually capture our knowledge about a user’s behaviours, feelings and attitudes. It is a useful tool to help leaders, teams and organisations better understand the people they engage with, and wish to impact.
